Originally established as an independent broker house over 3 decades ago working primarily within the highly specialised olefinic/petrochemical gas market, Gasmare Srl quickly became recognised as a market leading commercial manager within the wider LPG and Petrochemical Gas sectors.

 In 1997, Gasmare Srl established the GasmarePool, with Gasmare Srl undertaking the role of commercial manager for both the Synergas Srl and Mediterranea di Navigazione Spa Gas Tanker fleets. Following its success, in 1999, Gasmare Srl entered in to a further agreement with GasChem Service of Hamburg in order to ensure their clients were able to both optimise fleet employment from an Owners perspective, as well as enjoy streamlined logistical solutions from a Charterers perspective. This agreement became and remains known as the GasChem/Gasmare Pool.
